This section explains how to overlay multiple plots by creating
layers and plotting them in the same viewport and how to modify an overlay plot
once you have created it.
Each layer in an overlay plot is completely independent. You can
change the output database, the plot state (or plot states), reorder the layers
with respect to each other, manipulate the view for each individual layer, and
change the various display options that are applied to the contents.
