Editing Parameters Directly on the Parameters Tab

You can edit individual parameter information using the Parameters tab. Isight applies the changes you make on the Parameters tab when you press ENTER or move the mouse pointer to another column.

  1. From the gateway, select a model.
  2. Select the component that contains the parameters that you want to edit.
  3. Click the Parameters tab, and click the parameter whose settings you want to update.
  4. Change any of the following settings, as desired:

    Name Change the name of the parameter.

    Display Name Edit the name that displays in visuals (e.g., graphs, correlation maps, etc.).

    Mode Select a new mode: Input, Output, Input/Output, Local.

    For more information, see About the Parameter Mode.

    Value Update the parameter value. Alternatively, you can click Edit and then click the (toggle) button next to the Value field to clear the default value. This option is available only if you have selected the preference Suppress values of new Input and In/Out parameters; see Setting Parameter Preferences in the Database for more details.

    Note: When an array is edited, changes to the Value are applied to the array entries; changes to the other features are applied to the whole array.

    Unit Define a unit for this parameter. You can click the corresponding list to display the most recently used units. In addition, you can click the button to add a unit from the library. For more information about units, see About Units.

    If you change the unit for a parameter that is mapped to other parameters, Isight displays the Unit Type Change dialog box prompting you to verify if you want to change the unit type everywhere. Clicking No changes only the selected parameter unit. Clicking Yes changes all parameter units to which the selected parameter is mapped.

    Changing a unit type within the same unit category causes Isight to display a message verifying if you want to convert the parameter value with the unit change.

    Note: When an array is edited, changes to the Unit are applied to the array entries; changes to the other settings are applied to the whole array.

    Type Select a new type: Boolean, Integer, Real, or String.
    Description Update the description of the parameter.
    Allowed Values Enter the allowed values for this parameter to define limits on what values this parameter can be set to when the component executes. Values that fall outside of the defined allowed values will cause the component execution to fail. For more information, see Defining Allowed Values.

    Note: When you edit an array, changes to the Allowed Values are applied to the array entries; changes to the other settings are applied to the whole array.

    Save to DB Specify whether or not values are saved to the results database for Scalar and Array parameters. If this option is not selected, parameters that are not saved will not be displayed in the Parameters or History tabs in the Runtime Gateway during and after execution.   5. Save the model, if desired.
