About the Model

In the following figure, the initial model is illustrated. The boundary elements of the rear side are pin-fixed while the load case consists of a concentrated force and moment in the center.

The design nodes for the optimization are the inner nodes of the six rim holes. The neighboring nodes can be moved because of the mesh smoothing feature. The inner and outer side of the rim should be manufacturable by turning, there a turning constraint is applied on these regions. In addition, a rotational symmetry and stamping constraint for the six rim holes is defined.
