We will rerun the same analysis in
Abaqus/Explicit
for comparison.
This time we are interested in the dynamic response of the hoist to the
same load applied suddenly at the midspan. Before continuing, click the
Model tab in the left side of the main window to switch to
the
Model Tree.
Click mouse button 3 on Model-1 in the
Model Tree
and select Copy Model from the menu that appears to copy
the existing model to a new model named
Explicit. Make all subsequent changes to the
Explicit model (you may want to collapse the
original model to avoid confusion). You will need to replace the static step
with an explicit dynamic step, modify the output requests and the material
definition, and change the element library before you can resubmit the job.
