Customizing stream colors

You can adjust the color that Abaqus/CAE uses to display streamlines for the active streams in the current viewport. The Stream Plot Options dialog box enables you to display streamlines with:

  • a single, uniform color along their entire length,

  • a continuous contour spectrum that varies along the length of the streamlines, or

  • a banded contour spectrum that varies along the length of the streamlines.

Continuous contours display gradations without any solid bands of color, while banded contours display a number of contour intervals in which the color is constant. Contours for streamlines reflect values for the current primary variable and are subject to the contour settings specified in the Contour Plot Options dialog box. For more information about contour options, see Customizing a contour plot.

Context:

The color selected for uniform color display also determines the color with which Abaqus/CAE displays streamline arrows that indicate the direction of flow. For more information about toggling on arrow display, see Customizing streamline thickness and arrows.

  1. Locate the Color options.

Select OptionsStream from the main menu bar in the Visualization module. The Color options appear at the top of the page.

  2. To specify the color option, choose Uniform color, Continuous contour, or Banded contour.
  3. If you choose Uniform color, perform the following additional steps to select a color:
