Context:

The Cap Color options provide two choices for customizing the cap color:

  • Select Specify and click to display the entire cap with a fixed color. Abaqus/CAE displays that color for all components on the cutting plane and does not change the color as you move the plane or change the color coding selections.

  • Select Use body color to display the current colors of each component in the model on the cutting plane. Abaqus/CAE changes the coloring of the model components on the cutting plane dynamically as you reposition the plane or change the color coding selections.

    Note:

Abaqus/CAE displays different cap colors for different parts; however, Abaqus/CAE does not display a different cap color for different sections, materials, mesh defaults, etc., in the same part.

Abaqus/CAE hides the cap from the viewport if you toggle on translucency for your session; for more information, see Changing the translucency. In addition, Abaqus/CAE might hide the cap when you save or export the contents of the viewport, depending on the file format you select.

  • If you save a viewport image to a file and select a vector-based file format, Abaqus/CAE hides the cap in the resulting file. Abaqus/CAE creates a vector-based file when you save the image in SVG format or when you save the image in PS or EPS format and specify Vector as the Image format from the PS Options dialog box or the EPS Options dialog box.

  • If you export viewport data in either VRML or 3DXML format, Abaqus/CAE hides the cap in the exported file. The cap is included in the exported file for all other export formats.
