Filters allow you to remove extraneous field output data or
history output data—noise—during the analysis of a model without a loss of
resolution in the desired data range. You can also use filters to filter field
output or history output before the data are saved to the output database
(.odb) file; as a result, filters can also reduce the size
of the output database.
