You can create a user-defined approximation, which allows you to
select the approximation technique and control all the options used by the
technique. You can create user-defined approximations in the Design Gateway and
the Runtime Gateway.
The following approximation techniques are available in
Isight:
RBF Model
Response Surface Model
Kriging Model
Orthogonal Polynomial Model
Note:
These techniques are plug-ins that have been created by SIMULIA and
included with your
Isight
installation. You can create your own approximation technique plug-ins using
the SDK Generator. For more information, see
About Plug-Ins
in the
Isight Development Guide.
If you want to create an approximation automatically (where
Isight
specifies many of these options for you), see
Creating Approximations.
You can also create an approximation based on a previously saved coefficient
file. For more information on using a coefficient file, see
Creating Approximations Using a Coefficient File.
To create a user-defined approximation, you first need to select the
technique and then configure each technique’s options. In addition, you must
also configure options that are relevant to all the techniques.
