Setting CATIA V5 Component Preferences

You can control some settings that the CATIA V5 component uses each time you first open it.

  1. From the Design Gateway Edit menu, select Preferences.
    The Preferences dialog box appears.
  2. Expand the Components folder on the left side of the dialog box, and select CATIA V5.
  3. Set the following options:

    Use CATSTART_PATH Variable Select this option to locate the CATSTART.exe using the CATSTART_PATH environment variable. If you do not select this option, enter the path to the executable in the Locate CATSTART.exe text box.
    Use CAT_ENV_FILE_PATH Variable Select this option to locate the CAT_ENV_FILE_PATH environment variable. If you do not select this option, enter the path to the CATIA V5 environment variable in the Locate CATIA environment file box.
    Use CAT_RELEASE Variable Select this option to determine the target CATIA V5 release using the CAT_RELEASE environment variable. If you do not select this option, select the release from the Select CATIA V5 Release list.
  4. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Preferences dialog box.
