Adaptive DOE Technique

Adaptive DOE is a space filling DOE technique. It optimizes the position of points in the space by maximizing the distance from any other point, this strategy ensures that no two points are too close to each other.

Series of N space filling DOE’s will be centered on a projection that has not been evaluated yet (similar to gradient method step). This projection is only evaluated in the next step. The DOE search space will shrink and expand from iteration to iteration in order to produce a more accurate optimum. Following figure shows example of points are filled into the specified bounding box to produce a more accurate optimum with uniformly distributed points.
