Configuring an Oracle Database

If you will use Oracle database with the SIMULIA Execution Engine application, you must create the Oracle instance and configure the database user account, tablespace, and tables. This must be done before installing the SIMULIA Execution Engine server.

These instructions apply to Oracle 19c.

Note: If you have a SIMULIA Execution Engine database in Oracle 12c (or earlier), you must migrate the Oracle database from 12c to 19c as per standard Oracle procedures. The standard Oracle procedures are documented here:

  1. https://www.oracle.com/africa/a/tech/docs/twp-upgrade-oracle-database-19c.pdf
  2. https://docs.oracle.com/en/database/oracle/oracle-database/19/upgrd/index.html

If you will use the built-in Derby or Microsoft SQL Server database instead of Oracle, skip the instructions in this section.
