Setting the Execution Options

You can use the Advanced tab to set the execution options.

  1. Double-click the SolidWorks component icon .
    The SolidWorks Component Editor appears.
  2. From the SolidWorks Component Editor, click the Advanced tab.
  3. Click Extract Global Variables and Equations to extract Global variables and equations.

    You can view available Global Variables and Equations in the Parameter tab.

    • The list of Global Variables available in a particular part or assembly is accessible under a "GlobalVariables" node under the corresponding part or assembly node in the tree in the Parameter tab.
    • The list of Equations available in all the parts and/or assemblies is accessible under the "OutputParameters" node in the tree in the Parameter tab.

  4. Click Show SolidWorks during execution to launch SolidWorks as a foreground process.
    You can view the changes taking place in the SolidWorks model during execution.
  5. Click Save after execution to save the output file after execution.

    In addition to the standard format, the output file can be saved in .igs, .prt, .jpg, .sat, .wrl, .x_t, .3dxml, and .step formats.

    The check boxes in the Format area are enabled only when Save after execution is selected.

  6. If desired, save the output file in the desired format by clicking the corresponding check box.
  7. Click OK to save your changes and to return to the Design Gateway.
