Setting the Execution Options

You can specify the command line to execute the LS-DYNA solver and add the files required for execution.


Before you begin: You must first select the input file and prepare the component (see Selecting an Input File and Preparing the Component).
  1. Double-click the LS-DYNA component icon .
    The LS-DYNA Component Editor appears.
  2. In the LS-DYNA Component Editor, click the Execute tab.
    The Basic subtab appears.
  3. Specify the LS-DYNA Command Line.
    1. Enter the command line directly, or click Browse to locate a .bat file.

      The command resembles the following:

      ls971_s_R5.1.1_win32_p.exe I="input_file_name>"

      You can enter the the executable path and command line using the Preferences editor (see Setting LS-DYNA Component Preferences).

    2. If desired, add parameters to the command line. You can either select these parameters from the Parameter list or create them by clicking . Click to add the parameter to command line.
  4. Set the Run Control options.
    1. In the Elapsed Time Limit field, enter a value (in seconds) to specify how long to wait for execution before determining that execution failed.

      The default value is 300 seconds.

    2. Click Standard Output if you want the messages that LS-DYNA writes to standard output to appear in the Logs tab on the Isight Runtime Gateway.
  5. Click the Required Files subtab.

    You can add the files that should be sent to the runtime directory before the LS-DYNA calculation starts.

    1. Click Add Required Files.
    2. Navigate to the desired file, and click Open.

      The name and path of the added files are displayed in the Required File List.

    3. Cilck Remove Selected Files to remove the selected files from the list.
  6. Click OK to close the editor and to return to the Design Gateway.
