Editing Sections of General Text Data Source

You can edit multiple lines in your General Text data source to define sections of the data source file with different formats or to read large string values.

  1. Double-click the Data Exchanger component icon .
    The Data Exchanger Component Editor appears.
  2. From the Data Exchanger Component Editor, select a General Data section.
  3. In the Swipe Details area, click the Group tab.

    The Start subtab appears with the Group options displayed.

  4. Select how you want to specify the location where the swipe begins:

    Line Enter the line number line that you want to mark as the beginning of your swipe. You can also enter an expression or click the expression button to open an expression editor
    Find Specify a group of characters as the starting point.

    Select String or Regexp (regular expression) from the adjacent list, and enter the text you want to start from in the corresponding text box. You can also enter an offset, which is the number of lines before or after the search string to start the section.

  5. Click the End subtab, and determine where to end the swipe.

    An End search starts from the line selected by the Start tab. The Start line # option is from the start of the file. The End line # option is from the start line of the section (0 = 1 line, 1 = 2 lines).

  6. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Data Exchanger Component Editor.
