Editing an Existing Action

You can edit an existing action in your data source. For example, you can change a read action to a write action. This option is available only if the Data Source is open for writing.

  1. Double-click the Data Exchanger component icon .
    The Data Exchanger Component Editor appears.
  2. From the Data Exchanger Component Editor, select a read or write action by clicking on the parameter in the Parameter list or by clicking on the highlighted data (pink or green) in the Data Source area.

    Clicking on a parameter scrolls the Data Source area so the first read or write of the parameter is visible. The data read or written (already highlighted in green or pink) have a blue border.

    Similarly, clicking on Read or Write data highlights the data with a blue border. The associated parameter is selected in the Parameter list.

    The details of the data selection are displayed in the Swipe Details area.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Click the Read button or Write button next to the Parameter list to change a read action to a write action or a write action to a read action. This option is available only if the Data Source is open for writing. If the Data Source is open for reading, Read is the only available action.

    • Click the Op column in the Parameters table to toggle between read and write. You can toggle only if the Data Source is open for writing.

    • Right-click the Op column in the Parameters table, and select Read Parameter or Write Parameter.

  4. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Data Exchanger Component Editor.
