Setting Model Properties

You can set model information, such as the model name, version, and description, which helps identify the model if you publish it to the library.

Model properties also include controlling model execution options, including specifying where results should be saved and specifying that a report be generated automatically after model execution. In a SIMULIA Execution Engine environment, an affinity check is available immediately after a job is submitted. For more information, see Setting the Execution Options.

  1. From the Design Gateway, select a model.
  2. From the Design Gateway Edit menu, select Model Properties.

Tip: You can also click the button next to the model selector.

The Model Properties dialog box appears.

  3. Select the General tab, and specify the following model information, as desired:
    OptionDescription
Model Name Enter the name of the model as you want it to appear in the model selector list and how it will be named when published to the library.
    Important: Do not use the following characters in the model name:#, ?, &, %, !, \, $, {, }
Model File Enter the path to where you want the currently selected model saved.
Model Version Enter the version number of the model.
Model Description Enter a brief description of the model.
  4. Set the Model Icon options, as desired. The icon is displayed in the SIMULIA Execution Engine WebTop. The icon can help WebTop users identify the model.
    OptionDescription
Clear Select this option to remove the icon currently being used by the model.
Browse Select this option to search for a specific image to use as the model’s icon.
Use Root Component Icon Select this option to use the default icon for the model’s root component as the model’s icon. If you later change the root component, the icon is not updated automatically.
  5. Click the Publish Info tab, and specify which parameters are available when the model is referenced in another model:
    • Select Use all root component parameters to use all the root component parameters. By default, this option is selected.

    • If you do not want to use all the root component parameters, clear the Use all root component parameters option, and individually select the parameters that will be available from the list in the dialog box.

  6. Click OK to save your changes and to close the Model Properties dialog box.
