Encapsulating Components

You can encapsulate components to put existing simulation process flow components into a new process component. For example, if you have configured an Excel component, and now you want to place that component into a new DOE component, you can do so by using encapsulation. You can encapsulate a component by selecting the component, right-clicking a component, or dragging and dropping a component onto another component.

Important: Encapsulation is not restricted to a single component. You can select several components in a simulation process flow and encapsulate them together; the segment of the flow delimited by the selected components becomes the flow of the encapsulating component. The selected components do not have to be consecutive in the original simulation process flow, so long as their portion of the flow has a single point of entry and a single point of exit. You cannot encapsulate multiple components when you use the drag-and-drop method.
